You Made My Day!

This message was waiting for me in my inbox the other day.  My sweet friend Julie, who just happens to be a newlywed sent me this hilarious e-mail.  She gave me permission to share it with you!!

I have been reading your ‘lazy moms’ blogs/tips. So far I haven’t really been able to relate. I have a tiny apartment that I have been able to keep (pretty much) clean for 8 months. Scott is clean and we don’t have kids. Well, there is a group of women that work at OBU that formed ‘Dinner Club’ a few years ago. I got plugged in with them almost as soon as I moved here. Everyone takes turns hosting dinner. It’s every Wed. night for whoever can make it. Well, last night it was at my place. Last weekend I was at a women’s retreat with my church. I returned to a home that looked like a bomb had gone off. Scott has been busy with multiple papers and tests the past two weeks. I was exhausted from my weekend and it doesn’t take many dishes in our small kitchen for it to look like they’re taking over! I didn’t think I had a problem, though. I had Monday and Tuesday evenings to get everything back in order, right? Well, Monday I could not get into the cleaning groove. I ended up telling myself I could do it all tomorrow and I went to bed. Then Tuesday night I wasn’t feeling very good. So… I went to bed. I woke up Wednesday morning in a panic. It hit me what I’d done. The house was a wreck! julie-pic-3julie-pic-1All of a sudden the Lazy Mom tips are popping into my head. I don’t have a dishwasher to shove everything into… I need the oven for dinner… wait! I have a bathtub! That’s right. Dinner Club was a blast. We all enjoyed dinner in the comfort of my ‘clean’ home. Then at 9:30 when everyone left, I unloaded the bathtub full of dirty dishes!”julie-pic-2

I just hope none of her guests peeked behind her shower curtain!  We also received another success story from Jana.

I’ve tried several of the recipes I found on the web site and they were WONDERFUL!  I even made some for my parents who live next door and they enjoyed them as well.  Thanks again.

We absolutely love to hear from you when you try something you found on our site.  When possible take pictures so we can share the fun!

Don’t forget on Tuesday we will be having our Mr. Linky party with your Lazy Mom Confessions.  Start thinking about what you want to confess and then come back first thing Tuesday morning to link to your blog!

Julie – The bathtub is PERFECT stash spot! It can hold way more than the oven or dishwasher. I only hope you don’t have a clear shower curtain. I’m glad you were able to enjoy your dinner party!
