Water for Wine

Do you remember a few weeks ago when I told you about my children’s birthday parties going to Mexico?

And do you remember a few weeks before that when I told you it was HOT!

HOT

Well when we got back from Mexico this is what our plants looked like. What do you want from me? I had arranged for someone to come feed the dog and let her out (which is a lovely story all on it’s own!). I was supposed to pay someone to take care of my plants too?

So sad! This is also what our friends see as soon as they come to our home. We have a side garage and the door that leads into our kitchen is right off the driveway. So I put these pots near my “back” door to help soften that entrance and make it more welcoming to our friends. Without a doubt seeing these plants will make anyone feel welcomed and confident that their hostess will provide for their every need!

Last weekend my wonderful hubby agreed that we needed to replace these dead plants! Sunday afternoon we headed over to our local garden center and bought almost anything we could find that could withstand our heat and the direct sun these pots will get. I know, I should have purchased a cactus! Don’t they look so much better!

new plantsNow if you come to my house you won’t feel like you need to sneak in your own water bottle to be sure you don’t leave dehydrated! I might ask you to water my plants before I let you in though, but I’ll pour you a glass of wine while I’m waiting! Just be sure to roll the hose back up when you are done.

Have your big strapping husband move them to a spot where the sprinkler system will get them….I am all about short cuts!

it really was a big deal for that person to put some water to the plants. but as Julie said why don’t you try that?
