The Pantry Pit!
All this talk about organization is making this Lazy Mom feel VERY disorganized. It has inspired me to get my pantry in shape. We moved into this house 6 months ago and I absolutely cannot stand the pantry. It’s dark (no light fixture), not functional and just plain ugh! Here is a before picture of my pantry. Now, before you look, I have to tell you that this feels a little like getting naked in front of you. I’m really exposing myself here. (those choice words ought to do wonders for google when people search for naked moms!) OK, here it is:

Now, Lazy Mom Tip number one is to call your friend to help you organize your pantry. I, of course, called Lazy Mom Leslie. The first thing that we did was install this organizer on the back of the pantry door. You can find it in the Lazy Moms Store, along with the drill that we used.

Lazy Mom Tip number two: back away from the pantry and let your friend take over. She put in this Lazy Susan (Lazy Moms need Lazy Susans!), this expand a shelf and plastic bins.

Back to feeling naked, Leslie is commenting on everything in my pantry. She is especially obsessed with all the salt: kosher salt, rock salt, sea salt, table salt, etc. She could not understand why a girl would need this much salt. Maybe this explains why I feel swollen so much of the time. She went through all of my spices and medicines and checked expiration dates. Like any good friend, she would make a very dramatic remark when she found something that expired in 1990.
Doing this together, (really just Lazy Mom Leslie) it took about an hour. I did incur a few expenses, but the end result is organization. We all know that organization means more free time to spend with the kids or on the couch! Doesn’t it look great? What you can’t see is that I hung up two battery operated lights so now we can actually see inside!

On a different note, I linked my Ten Minute Task back to The Nesting Place blog. Click on the widget below to find lots of ideas on what you can accomplish in just 10 minutes!
Have we inspired you to get anything organized this week? If so, leave a comment and let us know. We would also love you to e-mail us your before and after pics so we can inspire other Lazy Moms.

I love an organized pantry! It looks great!
You girls are so funny. Love the new pantry.
Oy, the pantry! It’s another future get ‘er done for me. I might have to borrow Leslie!
If you don’t want to screw anything into the door, check out the Container Store. They have Elfa shelves that hook on the top and bottom of the door so no screwing is necessary!!
My personal closet…it’s needs help. I’m making the pledge right here right now…I will organize it on Saturday….It will be beautiful and functional! Thanks!
man, I have been needing to clean my kitchen out for AGES! With all these pics and post I’m guiltily feeling the need to finally accomplish this task. I’ll let you know when I get it done. YIKES!
I blame you all for this urge…haha.
