Yep!  It’s my birthday today!!  And, since my birthday consisted of a tennis match, LML and I celebrated yesterday.  But, it was more than a birthday celebration.  It was a back to school celebration.  Even though LML and I saw each other plenty of times this summer, we so needed some quality time without our kids!!!

A true Lazy Mom finds it wasy to stay connected with her girlfriends in a virtual world.  There are so many options:  email, texting, facebook, my space and the list goes on.  I love staying in touch with friends over facebook.  It’s an easy way to keep up and doesn’t take much time and costs nothing!

But keep the old.  That’s how the song goes, right?  I have been blessed to make some great friends sine my move in August.  In fact, Julie, is the first “friend” I made.  I met her at tennis.  She figured out I had just moved here and asked me how I was liking it.  I burst into tears.  (Charming, huh?)  Turns out, she found that endearing and took pity on me.  She gave me her number and then went home to tell LML all about the new girl at tennis …

To spend more time with her girlfriends, the Lazy Mom schedules a play date for their kids.  The kids are thrilled because they get a play date and are entertained.  You get to spend quality time with your girlfriend!  Lazy Mom Leslie and I do this lots!  We encourage the friendship among all of our kids because we love spending time together!  Everyone wins!

One of the biggest blessings about being a woman is the gift of girlfriends.  They are so important.  By nature, women are talkers and relaters.  Men can get together and golf and not say a word and have a great time.  Women can get together and just talk – doing nothing else – and their time together is successful.
