As a Lazy Mom one thing I would like to have more of is time to myself. It seems like I am always surrounded by people, which is a wonderful thing! But this Lazy Mom also needs some down time!
Imagine my joy when my mom called on Monday and asked if she could have the kids for a day! I certainly didn’t stutter when I answered her! So at 10:15 this morning I met mom at our local movie theater. I gave her the kids along with their overnight bags. …

Yesterday Lazy Dad Daniel and I were laying out by the pool watching the kids swim when I noticed my left thigh looked rather splotchy.
“What is this?” I asked. “Is it veins? Gross!”
Lazy Dad Daniel said he thought it looked like a sunburn. But, why does my right thigh look completely normal? I sprayed myself with sunscreen. I know I didn’t miss my left leg. Hhhmmmm.
And, as it goes with females, I thought about my splotchy thigh all day. I was really concerned it was veins which made me feel …

Remember when Lazy Mom Amanda confessed that she didn’t make it to church Sunday morning? Well I have a confession, I didn’t either!
Lazy Dad Philip went fishing over the weekend and when Sunday morning rolled around I was hungover excited about sleeping late. Oh, I kid! I did go out with some girlfriends Saturday night and shared a bottle of wine but not too much! In fact, as we were sitting on the patio of a favorite Mexican restaurant having dinner who walks up but Lazy Mom Amanda! Even when …

Last week my daughter had the wax museum at school. For those of you that haven’t had the pleasure of being part of this fun event, a wax museum is where the children research a person in history and then either dress up or create a poster board and “become” that person. They have a “button” on them that you push and when you press the button the wax figure comes to life and gives you a 1 to 2 minute synopsis on their life. It really is a fun …

Cooking is not my strong suit. I can cook, I somewhat enjoy cooking. But my husband? He loves to cook! He knows his way around a kitchen! For Mother’s Day I got a breakfast to die for! He made Crunchy French Toast. That is sweet bread soaked in vanilla, half & half, cinnamon and nutmeg and then coated in crushed Captain Crunch Cereal. The french toast was then topped with a chocolate sauce. He went to Shipleys Donuts and got some of their chocolate filling (my favorite!). That was all …

I confess, I love a good pair of designer jeans and I have a real weakness for designer handbags. With the economy being tight, these luxuries are a littler harder to come by. This spring when I had my eye on a new bag, I decided to sell a couple of my old Coach handbags on ebay. (This is also a great way to keep your closets organized!)
The only thing I have ever sold on e-bay is OU football tickets. Many of you are great ebayers and have had lots …

This is the talk that every parent dreads, especially if you are a Lazy Mom. I have 3 daughters so this duty falls to me. I have no sons to pawn off to Dad for the big talk. Oh, how I have feared this day.
I actually started on my quest in December. On the very same day the LML and I conceived the Lazy Moms idea we were shopping at a major bookstore looking for a “sex talk book” from a Christian perspective. It was December and the store was …

Have you ever forgotten your child? I have. Well, not physically forgotten him somewhere but forgot to do something I promised I would. We get a lunch calendar from the school each month. Quenten immeidately goes through the calendar and crosses out the days that he does not want to buy his lunch so I know when to pack a lunch for him. Thankfully it’s still cool to buy lunch in first grade so there aren’t too many Xes on our calendar.
One day there was no X so I only …

This past weekend I traveled with my daughter to Lubbock, TX for a regional gymnastics meet. I’m sure I’m going to get some questions on this so I will just tell you that Hannah is not in traditional gymnastics. She is in TNT (power tumbling, trampoline and double mini). Most of you probably haven’t even heard of this, but believe it or not it’s a growing sport and trampoline has been in the past couple of Olympics. It’s tough. Get out there on your kid’s trampoline and try to jump …
