Mother’s Day Madness!
We’ve told you before what a great cook Lazy Dad Philip is and that Lazy Dad Daniel needs a little guidance in the kitchen. Actually he needs a little guidance TO the kitchen. So for Mother’s Day we decided that Lazy Dad Philip would give Lazy Dad Daniel a cooking lesson. It started out in our heads as a big fancy meal that they would make for us. But like any good moms our families needs came first and time spent with our children on Mother’s Day became a priority and we ended up with a fancy dessert instead of a fancy dinner. That was just fine with us!
Here is LDD chopping the apples for the Apple Crisp that LDP chose to make for us. Notice LDP looking over his shoulder making sure he is doing it right. The recipe is availalbe at the bottom of this post as well as in our recipes section.
We hope nobody is coughing into our dessert and possibly giving us the swine flu! I guess we do kiss these men, so if they had swine flu we would have it by now. LDP had all the ingredients measured out and waiting. LDD felt like he was in a cooking show. We hope he doesn’t expect that when he cooks at home!
We should get LDP involved in our Sandra Lee Semi Homemade day. We could always use a good sous chef. In fact, in case you haven’t heard, we’re Lazy! We could just let him cook the meal next time. We’ll just handle the cocktails! Here is LMA watching her man learn to cook. One of those glasses of wine belongs to LML, we didn’t want you to think she was two fisting it.
This is the view that LMA and LML got to enjoy for the evening. Two men? Doing all the cooking? And clean up? And keeping our wine glasses full? If it looks like foreplay? If it smells like foreplay? It must be foreplay!
Here it is going into the oven. LDP was flexing for us, can you tell? He was hoping you could. LDD was the one getting a cooking lesson here and it looks like LDP is still doing all the work. LMA is thinking, welcome to my world! Isn’t it great?!
In preparation for the evening LDP made homemade cinnamon rum ice cream. Cinnamon ice cream is one of LML’s favorites. We think he is trying to butter her up for some reason! Look at the flowers he got her for Mother’s Day. He has great taste! Not only in women, but flowers as well.
Here is LDD checking them out. He acted very interested when LMA asked where they came from. Are there some flowers in her future? Probably not (he’s still a CPA at heart!).
While the boys were doing the cooking, LMA and LML were happily sipping their wine and writing this post. What a great way to spend an evening! We think we are much funnier with a glass of wine in hand. If you don’t agree, please don’t tell us. We like the little world we live in.
Here are our boys (and one of the girls) proud of their efforts. It smelled just as good as it looks!
Here is the finished result just waiting to be eaten. We’re not sure why LDP put two spoons on each plate. We don’t expect each other to share, we know we each want our own desserts. Our guys expect us to share dessert with them? Have they met us!?
LMA thought it was great and wondered if it came with a happy ending. Of course, on Mother’s day, the happy ending is watching TV all alone while LDD puts the kids to bed.
As much fun as it was watching our guys cook and eating the yummy results the real reason we celebrate this day are these five wonderful miracles right here. We are so thankful for our children, their health, and their friendships with each other. It would be such a bummer if our families did not enjoy each other as much as we do. Whenever we all get together the kids play so well together and so do the adults. It’s great!
We hope each and every one of you had a fabulous Mother’s Day! Time with our little ones is what it’s all about and Mother’s Day is no exception. We can’t wait to hear all the details of your days. Here is Mr. Linky for Mother’s Day Madness! Please link back to your specific Mother’s Day post and mention in that post that you are participating in Mother’s Day Madness. We would love for you to grab our button for your blog as well. We will leave Mr. Linky up through Tuesday to give those that were too Lazy to post on Monday a chance! Remember, we are giving away a slotRadio MP3 player to somebody who links to us! Happy Mother’s Day all you Lazy Moms!

Looks like ya’ll had a great Mother’s Day! I actually used Mister Linky! I hope I did it right! Mine was not a specific post about what we DID for Mother’s Day, but my thoughts on how grateful I am that this is my first Mother’s Day as a mother of three. It was a fantastic day!
Those apple crisps look yummy…and there is nothing like having a man in the kitchen!

haha I think I nearly overplayed the mothers day thing when my DD started crying when we were nearly asleep and I reminded him it was mothers day… but she fell back asleep before we finished discussing how applicable that was.
My DH made me pancakes for breakfast… how sexy is that. And then he made soup for lunch, even. supper was at my moms so nothing there. But then we came home and we watched Not Without My Daughter (sob) and he brought me ice cream. ROLO ice cream. sweeeeeet.
Looks like you all had a FABULOUS Mother’s Day!! Oh and you gotta love a man in the kitchen:-)
I love the flowers, and that you too, can jokingly call yourself a lazy mom, now I just wish i could get my mac book in pink like yours!
