My heart goes out to you for the anguish and helplessness you must have been feeling. I've recently been diagnosed with shellfish allergies, and it's scary to read about how serious an allergic reaction could be! My doctor prescribed a double epipen for me, and said to use the second one on the way to the hospital if the first didn't seem to be enough. Maybe that would be an option for your husband as well.
