Lazy Mom Confession: School Projects
Last week my daughter had the wax museum at school. For those of you that haven’t had the pleasure of being part of this fun event, a wax museum is where the children research a person in history and then either dress up or create a poster board and “become” that person. They have a “button” on them that you push and when you press the button the wax figure comes to life and gives you a 1 to 2 minute synopsis on their life. It really is a fun thing. We did this last year in Tulsa. Hannah was Princess Diana. She read an age-appropriate biography and then slipped on one of my old bridesmaids dresses, my debutante gloves (don’t laugh) and a tiara and transformed herself into Her Royal Highness.
This year the 4th graders were studying Texas history and the teacher assigned them a historical person from Texas history. Hannah was assigned Cynthia Ann Parker. Now, she had 2 choices: she could make a poster board similar to this one below that LML’s daughter made last year. (Obviously, this was before LML met me. If we had been friends I would have clued her in that this was NOT the way to go! Grace is a great artist, so I bet she did most of the work. Plus, LML is Lazy!!!) In case you are wondering. Grace is Mary Kay of Mary Kay Cosmetics. Look closely and you can see her holding her compact.
or dress up. What do you think this Lazy Mom did? I talked my daughter into dressing up. That posterboard looked like tons of creative work and the costume seemed like the easy way out. She was easily persuaded and we dug up this costume that incidentally I wore my sophomore year in high school for an American Heart Association benefit. Doesn’t she look adorable?

I make a menu of meals before I even think of heading to the grocery store. I also keep a magnetic notepad on the refrigerator and as we run out or low on something, it is to be written on the list. My shopping is much easier this way!
