Well first I'd like to say hello to all the Lazy Moms! Good to know I'm not the only one! And way to go on getting the Lazy Mom website onto Fox 13 news! That's where I saw it! lol

Okay so here's my question/problem/need advice!

My son is just turning 3 months old, for the past 2 days, he's been whining and crying alot for no reason…Now I don't mean to brag, but I have a VERY good baby. He's slept thru the night since he was 1 month old, he usually only cries for two reasons..Hungry..or…Wet. Well for the past 2 days, things have changed…He's a pacifier baby, he usually always wants it…Now he's not interested in it, he's interested in chewing on the nipple of his bottle. I tried to give him a teething ring, but of course he doesn't know how to use it yet…I've tried putting my finger in his mouth(after washing my hands of course) to feel around, but I can't really feel anything…I think I feel a little bump on his gum, maybe a tooth coming in?

I've gotten advice from a friend, who might I add is NOT a mother, she said to give him those dissolving teething tablets. Anyone ever heard of those?…I hate to see my little angel crying, especially when I don't know how to fix the problem. Frown

Any advice would greatly be appreciated!

Thanks,

JenniferFrown

PS: If I could figure out how, I'd post a picture of my little man…Any tips?

Hi Jennifer! So happy to have you here in the Lazy Lounge! I have heard of babies getting their teeth as early as three months. It is very possible that is what is happening.

You could try giving him a dose of tylenol to see if that calms him. Or even put some oragel on his gums to see if that helps. It sounds like you need to go through a process of elimination here and trying those things could help you do that. As always, check with your Doctor as I never been to medical school! Laugh

I would love to see a picture of your little guy. I'll be back with some instructions later on. I need to play with this a bit to figure it out!

We look forward to getting to know you! Any other tips for Jennifer out there?

Sure!

Okay so, you go to http://www.photobucket.com You have to register and sign-in. Once you do that, you go to Upload Photos….Then upload whatever photos you want….After it's upload, move your mouse over the photo and 4 different links will pop up underneith the picture, click on the second one(It automatically copies it for you)….Then come here and click on the “Insert Image” picture, the one with the tree….It says “Image Url” so paste the thing that you copied in that space and click “Insert” And Wal-A! You're done!

It sounds harder than it really is, once you get registered, then you're all set to go, just upload pictures, copy the link, post it in the insert image thing on here!

Hope this helps, if you get confused, let me know, I'll go thru the steps a little better…

Thank you! He's our pride and joy..Our first, and hope to have atleast 1 or 2 more!!

I aboslutely love the stage he's at now, I wish he'd stay this age forever…But I wish he'd get over the teething thing…I tried putting his little teething toys in the frig to get cold, which seems to help, but of course I have to sit there and hold it in his mouth, he seem to like gumming it, but when it's not cold anymore, he don't want it. lol

He's so alert and such a joy! Yesterday evening I was at the gas station and when I walked in to pay, 2 different people stopped me, one lady said “Oh my, he's so tiny, he can't be more than a month old!” I said “Nope, he's 3 months!” Then this man was standing behind me while checking out and he said “Oh my, he's so alert, how old is he?” When I told him, he said “No way! He's more alert then my 9 month old!”

His doctor says the same thing, the day he was born, in the hospital, he could hold his own head up for a little bit, of course he'd get tired, then let it flop so you'd have to be careful, but the nurse said “He's holding his head up better than most 2 month olds!” He loves to stand up, sometimes if he's still in your lap, he'll start whining, so you stand him up on his feet and he'll start giggling and smiling! He's strong enough to stand up straight, but of course he's a little wobbley, when he's standing, I lean him up against my legs while I'm standing, and hold onto his hands, he'll stand there for about a minute before his litte legs collapse. Everyone says “Don't do that, it'll make him bow-legged” Well he wants to! And I haven't learned how to be stern and say “No” yet, he's just to darn cute and I don't like seeing his bottom lip stick out and start to cry. Frown

Isn't it funny how everyone has an opinion on how you should raise your child? And how they are all so happy to share it! Wink He sounds like a joy and I can tell how proud you are to be his mommy!

It's so much fun to watch them grow and develop! Before you know it he'll be running all over the place. Just keep doing what you think is right. I have never heard that letting them stand early will make them bowlegged! I wonder if that's true of just an old wives tale? Very interesting!

Hello girls,

I personally with my child have used those tething tablets and think they work wonders. I have reffered them to many others who love them just as much as I do. Tylonal helps but those homeopathic teethign tablets are great. There are a few different brands but I think they all work the same, some are flavored. I would give them a try. It's natural and it helps a lot and it's impossible to overdose. Let me know if you try it./ LaughSmile

I DID get the teething tablets, and oh my! They work great! They make him sleep alot, but I don't mind! lol More time for this lazy mom!….I got the Hylands teething tablets from Walmart, I believe they were around $5-$6…it says you can stick them under their tongue or in the bottle, I find t easier to put them in his bottle cause I can't quite hold his mouth open and get it under his tongue before I squish the tiny lil thing! lol

I will recommend them to EVERYONE who was a teething baby!

Kadensmommy, so glad the teething tablets worked.  And yes, the side effect of sleep is a GREAT one.  Thanks for the detailed instructions on photobucket, but I must tell you that overwhelmed me!  I'm learning my way thru this website stuff!!!  I hope I can figure it out.
