DH was out of town last night and I ate dinner on the couch, watched DVRd shows and didn't pick up a thing. Now I will be scrambling to get the house in order before he gets home. Anyone else do this? Do you have any confessions??
My DH went out of town so I went and bought my favorite sugar cookies (the soft ones with the pink frosting – you know the ones), a huge container of vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, cherries, and honey roasted cashews – and that's what the kids and I had for dinner! Sometimes, it's just an ice cream sundae for dinner night…

If i CAN DO IT DAILY…i WOULD…AND HAVE. And on the days when I know what time he will be home, about 15 min before he pulls in the drive, I scramble to get sweaty, toss things in the kids closet-out sight-outa mind-, pull out the vaccum and park myself back in HIS chair seconds before he walks in. Then I say, “Oh, you're home early? He then thinks I've been slaving the house. Free points for me!

One thing my lazy Mom told me she used to do when my siblings and I were young was…15 min. before DH gets home, cut up an onion and start it to brown in a pan on the stove with some butter. It makes the house smell good, like dinner, the minute he hits the door and he thinks you've been working at it all day. Of course then you actually have to put something together for dinner.
