Lazy Day Down Time

As a Lazy Mom one thing I would like to have more of is time to myself. It seems like I am always surrounded by people, which is a wonderful thing! But this Lazy Mom also needs some down time!

Imagine my joy when my mom called on Monday and asked if she could have the kids for a day! I certainly didn’t stutter when I answered her! So at 10:15 this morning I met mom at our local movie theater. I gave her the kids along with their overnight bags. Yes! I said overnight bags!

Their plan was to take in a movie, go the the grocery store and then spend the rest of the day baking. My daughter Grace loves to cook, she must get that from her daddy! So Grace and Mom will be cooking and baking. Quenten declared that he would be the official taste tester! I’m sure he picked that job as it would allow him plenty of time to play Wii! DVR

What have I been doing with myself? Well I put in four hours of work on the school directory. I know! I am a wild and crazy girl aren’t I? Since then I have been watching all the high quality reality TV that is fililng up my DVR. It doesn’t take much to entertain me.

We are actually getting a long awaited thunderstorm right now. So I am thinking a nap is in my future!bed

What about you? Do you crave down time and time alone? What do you like to do with yourself?

P.S. Thanks Mom! The kids love spending time with you and have been looking forward to this all summer! I love you!

Good for you!!! I am so happy that the kids were able to have a fun outing with Grandma, and that you were able to get some important things accomplished and take some time to relax too!

I am an only child and really thrive on some quality alone time! :-) It’s been tricky with the kids home all summer…lots of company…and now hubby home since being laid off…I am craving some time to myself! When I do have those moments, I too LOVE to take a nap…and crafting…oh how I love to craft…my latest fun find…the “Kniffty Knitter!”
