Girl Time for a Cause

p1000167The Lazy Moms recently went to the Girlfriend Giggle. You don’t even know what the Girlfriend Giggle is, and you are already wishing you were there aren’t you?! Doesn’t the name just sound like fun? Well, it was! Here is the official description of the Giggle.

Giggle is the Fort Bend County Women’s Center “Big Girls’ Pajama Party” that raises more than $200,000 to assist victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and their children.

This party gives women the chance to hang out with their best girlfriends while indulging themselves with massages, new hair styles, make-up tips and much more. Plan to shop to your heart’s content for home decor, clothes and shoes! All proceeds go toward providing free and confidential emergency shelter, counseling, crisis intervention, and other supportive services provided by the Women’s Center.

As the name (and pictures) imply, everyone comes dressed in their pajamas. Usually a group of girlfriends go together dressed in matching pj’s. Aren’t ours cute?! We bought these pants, and had our shirts made here.  It’s hard to tell in the pictures, but our shirts said “Cheers to Girlfriends” in red crystals. There was a cute little martini glass with a great red olive in the center. Oh so sassy with the zebra pants! It was so comfortable, and a little odd, to go out in public in our jammies and slippers!

p1000172We had a great time with our friends supporting a worthy cause. Between the 10 of us we shopped, had our hair done, ate lots of great food donated by local restaurants, had our nails done, danced, got massages and drank a glass or two of wine.

Here I am getting a mini massage. Just what the Dr. ordered! I’m submitting the bill to my insurance company, I’ll let you know how that works out for me.

Here is Lazy Mom Amanda getting her mini massage. It’s looking like she might need a facial after! Those funny face donuts are way more comfortable than they look, I promise! It was a great evening!

One of the best parts of the evening was the look on my college age babysitters face I answered the door in my pj’s all ready to go out. You should have seen her surprise when my friends showed up to get me in their matching jammies! Like the smart educated girl that she is, she kept her comments to herself! But I could tell what she was thinking!

The only downside to the whole event is that I shrunk my cute new shirt! I knew when I got it that this shirt could never go into the dryer. Well, it slipped past me and ended up in the dryer. Of course I didn’t get that load folded right away and I ran the dryer again…..and again. It now will officially fit my daughter. Since we’ve already established that I’m mother of the year you’ll be surprised to know that I’m not going to give it to her. I don’t think that martini glass would go over too well at the 5th grade field trip!

You have one more day to earn extra entries for the Lazy Loot Bonanza. Get to it girls! Our poll is still open until noon on Sunday. Don’t forget to vote in the sidebar for your favorite tip. The new Topic of the Week will be announced on Monday along with our winners from this week. On Tuesday we will be putting up Mr. Linky for Ten Minute Tuesday. So get to work on whatever job you have been putting off. You will be amazed at what you can get accomplished in 10 minutes! Take before and after pictures and link back to us. We can’t wait to see your progress!
