Fun Family Fajita Friday

This is what my kids named last night.  It was indeed Lazy!  We are blessed to have a swimming pool in our backyard.  We all put on our suits and yes Mom got her hair wet.

I bought pre-packaged seasoned fajita meat from my local Kroger store.  I also purchased the pre-made guacamole, fresh salsa and cheese dip.  My kids love any food they can dip!  The best part about this meal is that Big D is in charge of the grill so he does most of work.  All I had to do was open a bunch of packages.family fajita night! 003

The Lazy Mom sets up her food buffet style so the kids can fix their own plates.family fajita night! 002

Oh, I almost forgot.  Big D made us margaritas.  That make for the best Lazy night of all!family fajita night! 001

We finished the night off by going out for ice-cream.  The kids absolutely had a ball.  Family nights don’t have to be expensive.  The kids just want undivided attention.  And, cooking for the family doesn’t have to be hard!

What do you like to do for family nights at your house?

Family Fun Night sounded awesome with fajitas! So wish I could come join you! :-) During the winter we were trying to do “Family Reading Night” and “Family Game Night” where we either all sat around the fire reading books, or playing games, and just as you said, it was just nice for the kids to have our attention and be together. Also, when “Survivor” is on, it is one show we all like to watch together. Thursdays were inevitabley always busy with music lessons, etc…so we would order pizza for delivery and have pizza with Survivor…always easy and it gave me every Thurs. off from cooking! Now that it is summer and stays light past 9 p.m. our schedule has changed and we spend more time outdoors…but that shouldn’t stop us from playing a game outside or just taking the festivities outdoors! :-)
