Delegate the Chores

work signTo get kids to help around the house, we came up with a chore system. We have a dry erase board that lists the daily mandatory jobs (making your bed, feeding the cat, etc). We also have a list of optional chores that each have a monetary value. The kids can earn up to $5 per week doing optional chores. Once they get their money, they must divide it between savings, spending and giving envelopes.  submitted by Lisa C.

Can we see an example of the dry erase board. I’m having a hard time following through with reminding them of their chores. Any suggestions or examples would be great! Thanks.

Although a nice idea, that doesn’t sound very lazy.

Oh, Ms. Ivy! I disagree. Lazy Moms pass off the work and delegate the chores. Otherwise we would be doing it all ourselves!!! I’m a big believer in delegating! :)
