I would say we had a fun week talking about housekeeping, but seriously, is there anything fun about housekeeping??? You Lazy Moms do have some great tips, though. In no particular order are the top 5 tips from this week. Pick your favorite. The winner will receive this camera strap donated by Mandy at Little Precious Boutique. Lucky girl!

- One of the most successful housekeeping tips that I can share is what I call the Five-Minute Drill. It involves my children and usually happens when there is clutter decorating my house and my stress level is high. When I recognize the moment for a five-minute drill, I make the announcement to my children. Whatever they are doing at that moment, they pause and come participate in the drill. The rules are this 1) We have to work non-stop for 5 minutes as quickly as you can. No stopping! 2) You start by cleaning up anything that is yours and then you help by cleaning up other messes 3) You cannot ask "what do I do?" You just look and see what needs to be done. (69.0%)
- No matter how hard I clean the toilets - it's hard to get out the hard water stains. But I used this tip and it worked. Pour Coca-Cola into the toilet and some in the tank and let it sit for about 1/2 hour. Flush and clean as usual. Stains came out immediately!! It is also supposed to work on grout but I haven't tried that. (19.0%)
- My house gets cluttered everyday from toys and things my kids drag out of their bedrooms and leave throughout the rest of the house. A couple of months ago I purchased a large basket that looks nice in our living room. Before bed as I am making a sweep through the house to pick things up I just quickly pick up the toys that don't belong in the room and throw them into the basket. The next day the kids have to empty the basket and put their things away before they are allowed to do anything else. They know that anything left in the basket by the end of the day is mine to keep for myself, throw away or donate and if I find one of those same toys in their room on the floor not put away, it is mine too. - One of my hanging plants hangs about 7 feet long and no matter my level of ingenuity about watering it, it always leaks over.........biggerpot???who has time??? so i decided to put another plant directly under it to catch the overflowing water.... both plants are always healthy and i do not have any more water stains..... you should see this ivy, it's something else (4.0%)

My kids are older now but we used to do this “game” too. I would set the microwave timer for fifteen minutes and we would see who could pick up the most things during that period of time. Years later they still like that game and I expect they will someday revert back to it with their kids.
