Do you have any traditions that your kids love? We have a few of them. I shared one with you here. Another one we have is Cinnamon Roll Friday.
During the school year I get up a little earlier on Fridays and make cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Don’t give me too much credit. They’re Pillsbury out of a can, I’m not Pioneer Woman! But my cooking is not the point.
The point is I am doing something special for my kids. I am making them feel loved. I am making Friday a …

One of our tips that we posted last week came from Lisa C.
To get kids to help around the house, we came up with a chore system. We have a dry erase board that lists the daily mandatory jobs (making your bed, feeding the cat, etc). We also have a list of optional chores that each have a monetary value. The kids can earn up to $5 per week doing optional chores. Once they get their money, they must divide it between savings, spending and giving envelopes.

It seems like we waited and waited for summer to finally get here. And once it FINALLY did, it has flown by! I am amazed that the stores are filled with back to school items already! It makes perfect sense. It is almost August after all. I just can’t figure out where June and July went!
A sure sign that school is around the corner is the purchase of new school shoes. Lazy Dad Philip and I are big party animals! So big in fact, that we spent our most recent …

Moms are always the ones getting stuck in the middle of the night having to do the midnight changing of the diaper!!
My lil guy used to soak through even the best of diapers so I started layering the crib so mattress, water proof pad, crib sheet, water proof pad, crib sheet That way you yank off the top layer and put them back in their bed

Big D and I are trying really hard to become completely debt free (and I mean completely)! So, that means we have been looking for ways to save money. One of the ways LML and I have both mentioned several times is by playing The Grocery Game. I know you probably think we are paid sponsors, but we aren’t. We are just believers! (we’d be totally cool if they wanted to advertise with us, hint hint!)
One way that I have been focusing on cutting back is how I entertain the …

Ok, we aren’t really rating parents (although, that would be FUN!!!), but we did narrow down your parenting suggestions. The winner will receive a cute Lazy Mom Tote bag. Now, girls, I know it seems like we have an endless supply of these, but we actually don’t. So, get out the vote for your favorite tip. The big winner can then send us a picture of her with her bag for our Lazy Moms across the world!!

Do you have a child like mine who refuses to sit in a stroller or carseat? For those babies who dont like to be confined, try giving them a distraction like a piece of whole fruit to munch on while you push them around. It takes a long time to eat and kids like to hold “ball” shaped fruit such as apricots, which are the perfect size for little hands. I hand my daughter one before every walk and its the perfect season for ripe fruits now that summer is …

We all have birthday traditions. Blowing out the candles, opening gifts, or a special dinner. We do all those things but we also have another birthday tradition that my kids look forward to.
Each year, the night before their birthday while they are asleep, I decorate their door. The birthday child wakes up to streamers, ballons and a banner. They LOVE it! In fact, they always sleep in the same room the night before a birthday. That way they both get to enjoy the streamers and balloons in the morning.

We recently went on a family vacation to Mexico. I don’t think I have told you that yet. We spent five days in Playa Del Carmen and it was fabulous! Lazy Dad Philip and I have vacationed in Mexico several times but this was the first time that we took our kids with us. In the words of our children, “This is better than Disney!” Mommy and Daddy agreed! We stayed at a great all inclusive resort and had the best time just hanging out with our kids.
One thing we …
