Pssst! Today is Lazy Mom Amanda’s birthday! I’m sure she’s napping right now. After all, what else is a Lazy Mom going to do on her birthday? If it was me I would have climbed back in bed after I sent the kids off to school.

It’s time for a giveaway!

It’s also time for our kids to go back to school. Monday is the magic day around here. Are We Annoying You Yet?

I know it’s getting obnoxious, but we interrupt this regularly schedule program to bring you the latest on The Grocery Game. Today at Kroger it was Double Coupon Day! For one day only! I was like a kid in a candy store. Remember, 6 weeks ago I didn’t even clip coupons. Guess how much I saved today? $136…can you believe that? We have out of town company coming this weekend so I bought extra and I bought good (steaks, ribs, etc). I still spent quite a bit, but my savings was huge!!!

Now I haven’t read it nor have I been contacted by the author or publisher. The winning parenting tip last week came from Kat!

Beach Bag Ready! I keep our pool bag stocked with fresh towels, sunscreen and toys. When we arrive home from the pool, I remove the wet towels and replace them with fresh ones. I keep the sunscreen in a zippered diaper bag pouch so if it leaks, it doesn’t get all over everything else in the bag. (I also keep a baggie of spare change for a special treat down at the pool.)

LMA and I are feeling the lazy days of summer this week! We aren’t having a specific theme. We are just going to post about whatever strikes our fancy. I’m sounding very old with all my little sayings….lazy days of summer….strikes our fancy. I think I am going to put on my favorite slacks and blouse and sit on the davenport. Maybe I’ll buy a new pocketbook. I hear they have this newfangled contraption called the Internet and you don’t even have to leave your house to shop!

LML Makes LMA Laugh

The other day LML and I were exchanging e-mails. I don’t know why we didn’t pick up the phone and call each other. It’s probably because we were too Lazy to go look for the phone, but we were having an e-mail conversation. Actually, we were chatting on Facebook (do you do that?), but it was locked up so we started e-mailing.

She was asking me how my new running group is going. I recently joined a running club here called Fort Bend Fit. I am loving it. They help train anyone

in January and so I signed up. Marathonto run a marathon. I have actually run 4 marathons, but decided I wanted to do the Houston Half

We were talking about how the half-marathon sold out in less than a day and the full-marathon sold out in 2 days. In a town this large you would think they would be able to accommodate more runners. There were many people from my running group that did not get registered in time. I was telling her how crazy I thought that was that it filled up so fast. Her response made me laugh and so I had to share it with you:

I think it’s nuts that there are that many people in this city who would run a marathon. That just sounds like torture to me! I’m glad you enjoy it though.

I told her I was going to post that because I thought it was funny and she said she could come up with alot more to say on the subject matter! All this time I thought we were equally yoked (in laziness), but maybe she is the lazier of the two!!! Don’t worry, I will drag her rear out of bed to come cheer for me!!
