Overwhelmed! This is how I am feeling. I have just been on a 2 week vacation to see family in Tulsa. We got back yesterday and I must tell you I was in the worst mood! I felt fat…all we had done was eat for 2 weeks! I had loads and loads of laundry. The kids closets were a mess and really needed to be cleaned out. The house felt dirty after being empty for 2 weeks. I felt overwhelmed!
Today I got up with a new attitude and decided to …

I need to get back into a routine. Routines are good. They help you get through your day, they help you get stuff done! Do you have a routine? A housekeeping routine, that is. I need a housekeeping routine.
I’m not the best housekeeper. I get everything done that needs to get done, but I could be much more efficient and productive. Time just seems to get away from me. The day just flies by. I do have bouts of productiveness. Periods of time when I get into a routine and …

Do you play The Grocery Game? The point of The Grocery Game is to purchase your non perishable items in bulk when they are on sale and stockpile them. I have never done this before. In fact, until recently, Lazy Dad Philip did most of the grocery shopping in our home. As you know, he is a great cook! It made perfect sense to me that the cook would do the grocery shopping. And he loved liked it!
Recently, thanks to our economy, I started to really try to clip coupons …

Have I mentioned that I was at the beach last week? Oh, how I wish we were still there. We went with my sister and her family and my parents. It might have been the best vacation we have ever had. My kids are at ages where they are self-sufficient. I didn’t have to take anyone in for a nap. I could actually nap on the beach. No kid stuff to haul back and forth to the beach each day. It was great.
But, all good things must come to an …

As I was cleaning up my house today I noticed something. Hang on, let me back track here. Remember when I talked about how my kitchen counters were a huge hurdle for me? A huge hurdle piled high with everyone’s accumulated stuff that is! I clean them off each day and they get covered with junk immediately. Like as soon as I blink!
So, I was once again cleaning my kitchen counters. I usually start at one end and just work my way down. I had been at it for several …

We’ve all probably received this email at some point. It’s one of those that is just funny no matter how many times you see it. According to Snopes this may not be for real. But it’s still funny! Happy Sunday!
* Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal ready on time for his return. This is a way of letting him know that you have be thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they get home and …

We have a spreadsheet that we use to plan in advance what we will be blogging about. It has long been a fact that today I would be blogging about organizing my laundry room. Only problem is, I did not want to organize my laundry room. Yes, it’s a pit. Yes, it’s been that way since we moved in, but I’m ok with it. No one really sees my laundry room. The door is always closed. Besides, I’m LAZY!!! I thought of every excuse under the moon to not organize my …

I’d like to be able to say that I was inspired by LMA’s post about teaching her oldest to do laundry. I’d like to be able to say that I wanted to teach my daughter to do laundry so that I could say that I was raising an responsible adult. I’d even settle for being able to day that I wanted to teach my daughter to do her own laundry in order to lessen my workload.
The truth of the matter is that I decide to teach my daughter to do …

This message was waiting for me in my inbox the other day. My sweet friend Julie, who just happens to be a newlywed sent me this hilarious e-mail. She gave me permission to share it with you!!
I have been reading your ‘lazy moms’ blogs/tips. So far I haven’t really been able to relate. I have a tiny apartment that I have been able to keep (pretty much) clean for 8 months. Scott is clean and we don’t have kids. Well, there is a group of women that work …
