On Monday my whole family donned our OU apparel and headed to Chick-Fil-A for our free chicken sandwiches. Our kids thought it was so cool that they were getting it free. (they don’t realize it’s free to them every time??) Did anyone else go??
Our friend Melanie from Bella-Mella has been going through the unimaginable. Her son Andrew has a large brain tumor that was just discovered. He is starting chemo this week.

Please visit Melanie and more importantly, please pray for Andrew’s healing.
So here it is, Wednesday the second week back to school. Activities have started, routines are being established. How are all you Lazy Moms feeling out there?
Are you happy to be back to school? Are you getting into your school year routine? LMA and I have been having a hard time getting back into a posting routine. We haven’t quite figured out why that is. Was it a mistake to have given ourselves a posting break over the summer? We still posted, just not every day. Maybe that feels like our new routine?
This is what my week is looking like so far. Up early, kids dressed, lunches made. Possibly a work out (or probably not), think about what’s for dinner. Putz around on my computer. Run errands, meet a friend for lunch, do some laundry. So far my days sound pretty great don’t they! And they are great, really great! I have no complaints.

First Day of School 2009
It gets a little crazy when the kids get home. I’m preparing snacks, going through backpacks, supervising homework, reminding about chores, cooking dinner, running the shuttle bus (shuttle SUV?) to activities. All the things moms do all the time.
The biggest change in our home is a new chore chart. Our kids have always been responsible for certain chores, but nothing was written down. They did what we told them when we remembered to tell them. Now we have plan and it’s in writing. I’ll tell you more about that another time.
Well, that’s what’s happening here in Lazy Mom Leslie’s world. Nothing exciting or out of the ordinary. But, it’s my ordinary, you know? And that makes it exciting to me!

Lazy Moms have been too Lazy to blog! Have you noticed? Actually, I have been very busy at home, I just haven’t felt like telling you about it. OK, that’s not really it either. It’s the picture taking to go with the blog post. It’s a pain in the rear.
What’s your Monday like? Mine has been pretty productive. I have done 2 loads of laundry, taken the dog to the groomers, run 2 miles and I am fixin’ (Yep, that’s a word!) to go work on dinner.
So, is your Monday manic or mundane??? What’s on your plate for today?
Do you have any traditions that your kids love? We have a few of them. I shared one with you here. Another one we have is Cinnamon Roll Friday.
During the school year I get up a little earlier on Fridays and make cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Don’t give me too much credit. They’re Pillsbury out of a can, I’m not Pioneer Woman! But my cooking is not the point.
The point is I am doing something special for my kids. I am making them feel loved. I am making Friday a little bit more fun. And most importantly I am making memories with them.
So when my alarm went off at 6:30 this morning (very early for this Lazy Mom!) I woke up with a smile on my face. I remembered that it was the first Friday of the school year which meant Cinnamon Roll Friday! I hadn’t said anything to the kids the night before. When they woke up they were thrilled and so excited that Cinnamon Roll Friday was back!
I love being a mom.
