Put ‘em to work!

A lazy mom hears, “I’m bored!” during summer vacation, and immediately puts the offender(s) to work on a chore that was just wainting to be done!  ie- windexing windows, vaccuuming, picking up toys, putting away laundry, etc. I bet the kids will think twice before whining about being bored next time! (Plus, that’s one less chore on the LM’s list! submitted by Tracy R.

Talk Amongst Yourselves

Motherhood, the hardest job you’ll ever love. We’ve all heard that, right? Who ever knew that would be so true! You sure could not have convinced my 20 year old self of that! I was too concerned with going to fraternity parties to give motherhood and all the puzzles that would go along with it much thought.

I have a few parenting puzzles facing me right now. I am going to do my best impersonation of a favorite Saturday Night Live skit. Imagine that I am Mike Myers playing an old …

And the Winner Is….

The winner of the adorable camera strap donated by Little Precious Boutique is ahankins! Here is her winning tip:

One of the most successful housekeeping tips that I can share is what I call the Five-Minute Drill.  It involves my children and usually happens when there is clutter decorating my house and my stress level is high.  When I recognize the moment for a five-minute drill, I make the announcement to my children.  Whatever they are doing at that moment, they pause and come participate in the drill.  The rules are …

Lice, Lice, Baby!

Lice, the four letter word that strikes fear in the hearts of moms everywhere. If it doesn’t freak you out to just hear the word, chances are your child hasn’t had lice yet. Because, trust me, lice is 100 times worse than you think it is.

The first time (yes, first) my children had lice was Easter weekend two years ago. I looked down upon the crown of my first born angel’s locks to see alien pods. EVERYWHERE! Each hair shaft had at least one of these alien pods nits on …

My Housekeeping Routine

I need to get back into a routine. Routines are good. They help you get through your day, they  help you get stuff done! Do you have a routine? A housekeeping routine, that is. I need a housekeeping routine.

I’m not the best housekeeper. I get everything done that needs to get done, but I could be much more efficient and productive. Time just seems to get away from me. The day just flies by. I do have bouts of productiveness. Periods of time when I get into a routine and …

Soak It!

As a lazy mom, I often use the crock-pot. But, I hate to clean it. I fill the empty dirty, stick on gunk covered pot full of water, a dash of soap and a used fabric softener sheet. The next morning I use the fabric sheet as a scrubie, and off all of the gunk comes! Very Lazy, indeed!! submitted by Philicia

It’s All Fun & Games…

Do you play The Grocery Game? The point of The Grocery Game is to purchase your non perishable items in bulk when they are on sale and stockpile them. I have never done this before. In fact, until recently, Lazy Dad Philip did most of the grocery shopping in our home. As you know, he is a great cook! It made perfect sense to me that the cook would do the grocery shopping. And he loved liked it!

Recently, thanks to our economy, I started to really try to clip coupons …

Get out of Ironing!

Forgot the clothes in the dryer and now they are cold and a wrinkled mess? Iron? God forbid. Soak an old towel and wring it. Place in the dryer with the clothes and put on warm for 10 minutes. Pull out towel and most wrinkles wil be gone from the clothes. submitted by Janet M.
